It’s Go time. BOLT VBS is coming to your house on July 27th 28th and 29th 2020!
A reminder that pick up of VBS kits will be on Sunday July 26th from 11:30am – 1:30pm. If you cannot make it we have people available to drop them off at your house later that day. If you haven’t registered yet, there’s still time, please make sure all your children are registered so we have a kit for each of them. The kits will include printouts, snacks and craft activities for each day as well as information about our mission project! In each VBS kit you will also find a simple daily devotional for caregivers. Please take a few moments to enjoy a short spiritual feeding for yourself!
As we approach the first day of BOLT VBS, we want to give you some more details to help you and your family have the best possible experience. To familiarize yourself, go to the BOLT “Family Portal” ahead of time to check it out. In order to access the “Family Portal”, you’ll need to enter the following password:
LETSBOLT (all caps).
The “Family Portal” also has all of the videos and documents (we’ve already printed for you) you’ll need for each day. Be sure to read the games document ahead of time so you can be prepared. Then, on July 27th 2020, when you’re ready to begin, simply go to the “Family Portal” and play the Day 1 video. The video will periodically tell you to pause in order to play a game, read from the Bible, or answer a question. Remember that you are welcome to view the videos and activities whatever day and time works for you and your family.
Every participant is welcome to join in a short (20minutes) zoom call for an opportunity to connect with other children their age to review and discuss the story of the day. These will be grouped by age and will take place on July 27, 28 and 29th and are completely optional but should be fun!

- Calls will be made by age group
- 1-130 (preschool and entering K)
- 130-2 (entering grades 1 and 2)
- 2-230 (entering grade 3)
- 230-3 (entering grades 4-6)
- Please try to have watched the story prior to the call if possible
- Please mute your child unless directed to unmute by the teacher
It’s helpful for you to review the “Parent and Leader Guide” ahead of time. It’s included in your child’s kit and I’ve also attached the guide to this email for your convenience. The guide will answer questions and give you simple step-by-step directions for using BOLT. There are a few materials you’ll want to gather beforehand for the games, but when BOLT begins, the videos will tell you what to do and when to do it and the kit will give you the supplies plus suggestions for additional crafts, activities, and a mission project. It really is easy!
Below find some links to videos of several well-known songs our VBS children have come to know and love over the past several years! It’s a way to add some past music favorites to the new music incorporated in the BOLT videos! You can play these, before or after the video. Remember, there is no right or wrong way of doing this!
Please feel free to share the BOLT link with any neighbors, friends and family that you think might enjoy participating.
